Cardiovascular Pathology

Cardiovascular pathology refers to the diseases of heart and vessels and represent the main cause of death in the world. The most important (as incidence and consequences) are atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease (angina and miocardial infarct), brain infarct and hemorrhage. Cardiac Pathology is instrumental in diagnosing and planning treatment for the wide range of heart diseases and disorders seen at the Heart Institute. Cardiac Pathology is also an integral part of much Heart Institute research.
